The best way to think about Quartz compared to many other CMSes out there is like this; Quartz is like a big box of Lego while other CMSes are like PlayMobil.

Confusing? Probably. What we're trying to say is that while other CMSes come installed with modules and functionalities that you as a user can randomly add to page templates. Kind of the PlayMobil way of making toys. All the buildings, cars and other vehicles are pre-made. There's a predefined shape and that's how it is.

That's where Quartz differs greatly. Because it's more like Lego you've got so much more freedom to create whatever it is you want! Quartz comes with a great set of building blocks which lets us set up your website quickly and exactly how you want it. Just as with Lego you'll need to build a car out of a couple of different blocks you've got, but the result can be a car which is 30x cooler and better than that standard PlayMobil car.

*disclaimer: We're not trying to say PlayMobil is bad to play with, it's just not our cup of tea. We like to create, we like to build, not necessarily from scratch but pre-fab all the way just doesn't cut it. We believe a mixed strategy of great building blocks and a pinch of custom coding will provide you with the results that you want, instead of having to  try to fit what you wanted into whatever it is the CMS can provide you.
